User Guide Dual Condition Adapter (DCC-1)

Trolmaster DCC-1 Installation

The DCC-1 allows users to use a DS type plug-in style module, and the DCC-1 to have two
conditions / variables controlled from a single device DS module. Follow the steps below to
install your DCC.

In some circumstances, it is necessary to have a single device turned on (or off) when a second
control condition is activated. There are many examples of this but the most common are:
• Turn on an exhaust fan to reduce temp or humidity.
• Turn on an exhaust fan at night using a recycling timer OR when Humidity is too high.
OR
• Trigger the exhaust fans to start if CO2 level over the set point during the night cycle -
when both conditions were met the set point.

The DCC-1 is designed to be used in combination with one of TrolMaster’s plug-in style
modules… the DSC-1, DSH-1&2, DST-1&2 and the DSP-1.

Once the DCC-1 is connected to the plug-in DS module using a RJ12 cable, the DCC-1 will act
in concert with that DS module to control whatever device is connected to the DS module.
To install the DCC-1...

1) First you will plug the DS module into a power source near the equipment that will be
controlled by the DS module.
2) Connect a RJ12 cable from the DS module’s communication port to the female port on
the DCC-1.
3) Plug the DCC-1 into a splitter and RJ cable that is connected back to the Device port on
the HCS-1. Note: The DCC-1 gets plugged inline with the DS modules RJ12 cable.
4) Next you will select the desired mode on the DCC-1 by using the SET button to select the
correct module type, and then pressing the Address button on the DCC-1. The DCC-1 is
now connected to the HCS-1 and assigned as the device station you selected on the DCC1
5) Go to the HCS-1 and find the device settings for the DCC-1.
6) You can now change the settings for the DCC-1 module.
7) If you have not already addressed the DS module that the DCC-1 is connect to, press the
addressing button to address the DS module.
8) Got to the HCS-1 and enter the settings for the DS module.
9) The last thing to do is to decide whether or not to activate the interlock function or not.
The DCC-1 can be set to work in two distinct ways using the Interlock function.

INTERLOCK ON: When the DCC-1 Interlock is selected to be on, BOTH conditions that are
associated with that pair of modules that are being used together must be activated TOGETHER
in order for the device to be activated. (modules used in "series")

Interlock OFF: When the DCC-1 interlock is set to be off, EITHER conditions that are associated
with the pair of modules can INDIVIDUALLY activate the DS module.
To select the Interlock mode simple press and hold the Interlock button for 3 seconds to toggle
between interlock on and off.
