Overview
The BETA-2 can control variable-speed fans by using the current temperature to increase or decrease the fan speed. By increasing the fan speed, cooling is increased… decreasing fan speed will reduce cooling capacity. Using the BETA-2 in this way provides a VERY economical and ecient way of dealing with heat within an enclosed space.

OVERVIEW
Thank you for purchasing the TrolMaster BETA-2 Fan Speed Controller. The BETA-2 is a simple and affordable way to control your fan. Choose your desired fan speed and temperature setpoint, when the temperature is lower than the setpoint, the controller will automatically maintain that specified fan speed. When the temperature is higher than the setpoint, the controller will output 100% power to the fan. When the temperature is lower than the cut-off setpoint, the controller will shut down the fan. A built-in photocell located on the controller automatically detects the day and night status, controlling the fan in day/night mode separately. A remote temperature sensor with 16ft long cable allows close placement to the plant canopy.

INSTALLATION
● Mount the Controller on wall, place the sensor in a well ventilated area.
● Connect the temperature sensor to the Controller.
● Plug the Controller into a AC wall outlet.
● Program the desired setting before connecting to your fan.
● Connect a fan to the Controller. Ensure that the fan has proper voltage (120V) and not exceeding its max amperage rating (6A).

 

OPERATION INSTRUCTIONS
1. Reading Temperature

a. When power turned on, the LED will display the current temperature.

b. To change between the Fahrenheit and Celsius, press UP button and DOWN button at the same time  for 3 seconds, the °F or °C LED indicator will be flashing alternately.

 

 

 

 

2. Set Cut-off Temperature

Press HOME button one time, the LED will be blinking, the LED displays the current cut-off temp setpoint. Press UP button  or DOWN button  to increase or decrease the setting.

 

 

 

3. Set Day Temperature

Press HOME button two times, the LED will be blinking and the LED displays the current day temperature setpoint. Press UP button or DOWN button to increase or decrease the setting.

 

 

 

4. Day Fan Speed

Press HOME button 3 times, the LED will be blinking and the LED displays the current day fan speed percentage. Press UP button or DOWN button to increase ordecrease the setting.

 

 

 

5. Set Night Temperature

Press HOME button 4 times, the LED will be blinking and the LED displays the current night temperature setpoint. Press UP button or DOWN button to increase or decrease the setting.

 

 

 

6. Set Night Fan Speed

Press HOME button 4 times, the LED will be blinking and the LED displays the current night fan speed percentage. Press UP button or DOWN button to increase or decrease the setting.

 

 

 

 

7. Restore the Factory Settings

Press and hold HOME button before plugging the Controller into wall outlet. Power the controller, the LED displays “rESt" and blinks. Keep holding the HOME button for 5 seconds until the LED displays "donE”.
